Mark 4: 39-40
He woke up and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace! Be still!” Then the wind ceased, and there was a dead calm. He said to them, “Why are you afraid? Have you still no faith?”
Many of us claim to be followers of Jesus and we still carry the baggage of the past with us- fear, anger, bitterness and the like. How is it that one could walk with the Master and still hang on to these things? Jesus may still be asking some of us the same way he asked his disciples, “Why are you afraid?” and “Where is your faith?” We should not be afraid because he promises to be with us and if we believe then we honor him and trust that he will deliver. All we need do is look at the multiple times he has guided us through rough times and kept us in our right minds when we could have lost it. Let us confess our sin of unbelief before God because He is faithful and just to forgive of our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
