A thankful heart

I Thessalonians 5: 18
In everything give thanks for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

We have heard it over and over again-be grateful. We have even been told that a heart of gratitude is a way to health and happy living but for many of us we find it so easy to focus on what is going wrong rather than all the things that are right and to thank God and our loved ones who help to make this happen. I believe too, that the flip side to this is that being thankful takes your mind away from the negative and toward the positive. Being thankful celebrates God’s faithfulness. We are not even able to tabulate God’s faithfulness because we do not know how many times, unbeknownst to us, He has snatched us out of danger. We gravitate toward the tangible but God is beyond that. It is a good thing to be thankful and as I type I give God thanks that my fingers are working so that I can perform this task. The heat is sweltering and I am sweating profusely but I thank God that I can even sweat- that I am even alive to have this experience. It is a good thing to gives thanks. Thank you Lord!
