2 Kings 22: 1-2
Josiah was eight years old when he began to reign; he reigned thirty-one years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Jedidah daughter of Adaiah of Bozkath. He did what was right in the sight of the LORD and walked in all the way of his father David; he did not turn aside to the right or to the left. NRSV
When history will have been written will it be said of us that we did what was right in the sigh of the LORD and remained steadfast? What is so wonderful is that we have folk who have gone on before us who left a beautiful legacy that we are privy to and can at least try to emulate. God is good. He has not left us without examples. We are encouraged because folk who have gone on before have accomplished great things and likewise we, too, can do the same with God’s help.
