Psalm 126: 3
The LORD has done great things for us, and we rejoiced. NRSV
This Psalm gives a stark reminder not to forget all the good things that God has done, as we well know is the human tendency. It would help if we made a list and then compare it with a list with mishaps that have occurred in our lives. Undoubtedly the former would be a longer list. It is just our tendency to focus on the negative and it is a deep seated habit that we must get rid of. How do we do that? We flood the atmosphere with praises, starting with our rising in the morning. I remember as a youngster my mother belting out the hymn, ‘when morning gilds the skies, my heart awaking cries, let Jesus Christ be praised’ in the morning time. As you go about your business today, count your blessings and name them one by one.
