Psalm 100
Make a joyful noise unto the LORD! Isn’t it great just to be alive? There was a song written by Patrick Hernandez and made popular in the late 1970s with words to the tune of ‘for we were born, born to be alive.’ You may ask, how else could it have been? It does sound like an oxymoron but there are times when I am just simply happy and thankful to be alive and sometimes a ‘nonsense’ song like that comes to mind. I loved it as a teenager and I still sing it now! You see, when you have lived long enough, you know that things could have been otherwise, so to be alive, and in one’s right mind is a privilege and I thank God for this privilege. As you go through today, give God thanks for your life and while you are at it put a smile on your face and brighten up not just your day, but someone else’s.
